BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Peter L. Haffner is an Assistant Professor of Art History and he teaches the arts of Africa and the Black Atlantic. Before joining 海角论坛鈥檚 faculty in 2019 he was a Smithsonian Institution Postdoctoral Fellow at the National Museum of African Art. His interdisciplinary arts-based research centers on the work of Haitian artists and the complex global cultural dynamics in which it is produced, exhibited and circulated. He earned his Ph.D. in Culture and Performance in 2017 from UCLA鈥檚 Department of World Arts & Cultures/Dance. He also holds a BA in Art History from Bard College and has a professional background in arts administration.
